Looks like there is going to be congestion in the aisle at NAB this
year. Not surprising considering the economy, the loss of interest in
trade shows in general, and the drop-off in attendance at NAB in
recent years.I suspect that the drop-off will be far more dramatic
this year, but happily I won't be there to witness it.
Looks like the NAB has found the digital cliff...

LAS VEGAS HOTELS OFFER DISCOUNTED RATES
FOR 2009 NAB SHOW ATTENDEES
WASHINGTON, DC - Many of the NAB Show's official partner hotels in
Las Vegas have lowered rates by 20 to 40 percent below earlier
offerings during peak show dates between April 19 - 22, according to
Expovision, NAB's official housing-management partner. Shoulder night
rates are also deeply discounted.
A sluggish economy, reduced tourism and higher inventory have allowed
Las Vegas hotels to reduce rates, presenting travelers with
exceptional savings even during peak convention dates. These early
bird specials are subject to availability and may require booking by
January 30. Specific rates and reservations are available at

"Attending the NAB Show has not been this economical from a housing
standpoint in decades," said NAB Executive Vice President of
Conventions and Business Operations Chris Brown. "We encourage
attendees to take advantage of these extraordinary rates and
experience the tremendous value the NAB Show offers."
