[opendtv] Re: News: The Old Guard Flexes Its Muscles (While It Still Can)

The owners of highly desirable content can always flex their muscle. It
seems that YouTube and Yahoo want to make their sites more desirable by
offering this highly desirable content, so they have to negotiate.

Really, no different from what cable companies do.

If the networks stop making desirable content, then obviously they won't
have this muscle to flex.

If networks continue to make highly desirable content, the YouTubes of
the world will not spell their downfall. They will instead be another
option for entertainment. In the case of YouTube, I don't see that it's
either/or. I'll bet a lot of people look at the funny stuff on YouTube
while watching TV, for example.
