Sinclair Shareholders Drop Suit Over Kerry Documentary

Sinclair Broadcast Group said Thursday that a lawsuit brought against
it by shareholders last year amid controversy over the broadcast
group's planned airing of a program some accused of being critical of
former presidential candidate John Kerry is being dropped.
The company said the dismissal was filed voluntarily Wednesday after
the Baltimore-based company filed a motion that noted that none of
the claims made in the original lawsuit had come to pass.
The lawsuit was filed last fall after Sinclair announced it planned
to run a program entitled "Stolen Honor," which critics claimed
featured unflattering portrayals of Mr. Kerry. A controversy ensued
that led Sinclair's stock price to tumble and prompted several
shareholders to claim that Sinclair was hurting their investment by
getting mired in the hotly contested race.
