Trade press often writes blurbs spurred by an ex parte filing.  Why else would 
my name ever make it in the press?

Interesting if true.  However, one needs to note that this is a news report 
based on a an ex-parte filing (required by the Sunshine Act) of a Philips 
meeting with a single Commissioner.  Philips is required to report it.

It's the first time I can ever remember a news item about an ex-parte filing.

It is not them 1)actually proving it or even 2)showing the device to the 
Commission and most importantly 3) letting the Commission testing the device.
