YUP. And you don't get to make such comparisons when the film is playing at speed. Keep in mind also that the full resolution potential of most SD-DVDs is not realized because the content must be filtered for those with interlaced displays. In the Blu-Ray demos I have seen, they take this to the extreme, making the SD content look much worse than necessary.

This is not surprising - the same companies did the same thing trying to sell us HDTV two decades ago. The demos in Washington ALWAYS made NTSC look like garbage, with terrible ghosts, high levels of noise, etc.
