Sorry, I couldn't resist the set-up.

For broadcasters, the issue is that once again the multi-channel distributors have co-opted "the next big thing" that was supposed to keep broadcasters competitive, and they are doing it with next generation compression technology while broadcasters are securely frozen into MPEG-2.

But the Funeral March is really for Blu-Ray, which is now caught between a ROCK (digital downloads) and a HARD PLACE (HD movies on demand).
