[opendtv] Re: News: DTV Boxes Could Cost $1 Billion

There are a few things "in play" right now with Lynx and Micronas.  I can't
go into much detail, because Lynx/Micronas -- at this moment -- is a
competitor.  I would say that Micronas is likely to concentrate on receiver
development, because at this very moment, they are trying to sell the PSIP
division of Lynx to a former Triveni sales manager, who is trying to raise
$3MM for the deal.

If it happens, the resulting company will be based in San Diego.  I hear.

Did the purchase of Lynx by an EURO based company possibly change their
direction and possibly even eliminate them as a player in the ATSC market?
They seem to have become silent on this issue.
