[opendtv] New DTV SIGNAL STRENGTH PREDICTOR

This site is a major improvement over the AntennaWeb signal prediction
software, which has a very limited terrain database. Using the AntennaWeb
site I am be led to believe that all stations (4) in my market are
receivable using their recommended antenna while in reality, only one of the
four can possibly be received using a 30 ft. mast and a high gain antenna.
It is important to consider that the AntennaWeb software is sponsored the
CEA and they, in my somewhat limited experience, will never predict a NO
coverage scenario.

This new site predicts my reception very accurately and also advises a user
of the receive antenna height required to receive each of a markets signals:
in my case a tower of about 400 ft. would do the trick.

A BETTER DTV SIGNAL STRENGTH PREDICTOR

Check out this Website for industrial-strength DTV signal strength
predictions at any receiving location.

Just enter your address and antenna height above ground, and get back (free
of charge)

a chart showing incoming DTV signal strengths taking terrain data (including
diffraction losses) into account.

Other useful information is also provided. (Thanks to San Diego SBE Chapter
36 for this story tip.)
