Yes, Bert, the production costs of going all HD news to a local broadcaster is dismissively trivial.
Spoken like a true information technology person who has never priced out broadcast gear, or sold local spots for $50 per :30 avail.

On HD news, the old argument against is was always silly, IMO. The ONLY excuse to not going HD for just about anything is if you need the bandwidth for something else. (Well, also studio costs, of course.)
