Also, imagine a glorious HD football game, framed in 16:9 after the transition, received somehow perfectly by a $50 converter but then displayed via RF channel 3 in tiny letterbox on a 12" analog TV. It would totally suck.

It is starting to look like the price of integrated LCD TV's is coming down fast enough Congress should allow those STB coupons to be used on those. It would probably speed the transition more than the STB's that nobody intends to make.
