This may be true, however, as we have discussed MANY times before, 
future digital appliances may have multiple sources for bits. The 
need to incorporate an OTA tuner in every display simply is not 
realistic.

I think of portability in terms of things that move around. Some may 
be PDAs. Some may be information/display systems in vehicles. Some 
may be notebook computers with OTA receivers.
And some may be purpose built portable TV receivers.

As you suggest, the portable display for the kitchen of bedroom of 
the future may simply use a WiFi link to get bits from the in-home 
network and associated gateways for bits, including OTA tuners that 
are shared by the devices attached to the network.
