E.g. as described in RFC 3550, RTP/RTCP.

One interesting aspect of RTP is that it does not necessarily depend on any 
sort of guaranteed network QoS. It can accommodate adaptive encoders at the 
source side, which adjust themselves constantly to fit the stream in the 
available link parameters, as reported by RTCP.
