Yes. Some other notable examples:

Disney's DVD that 'expires' after two days

Circuit City's DIVX 'pay per view' DVD

Pre-Recorded VHS tapes with a magnet in the cassette body
to erase the program as the consumer plays it the first time

It astounds me that these things even made it through R&D.

Then there's this:

Verizon Fios, unlike other utilities that disembark outside
the customer's home, not only requires it's equipment to be
installed inside, but also be powered from the customer's
electric utility.
