Seems to me, Cliff, that you should be willing to pay more for the viewing at home than going out to the venue.

Yes. I have done that many times. The cost of a DVD is usually more expensive than the ticket to the theater, AND since it is, I'm paying for the ability to enjoy it without going through the preparations necessary to attend a public performance. I should be able to watch and enjoy it at MY convenience while at home.

Have you ever noticed that milk is more expensive at the convenient neighborhood store than the (generally) more distant mega-supermarket? Some people travel miles for the very cheap gasoline. Most just select from the best price (or convenience) available nearby.

Milk is usually least expensive at the gas station while oil and other automotive accessories are usually less expensive at the supermarket.
Go figure.
As for the price of gas, it is on average 14 cents per gallon cheaper 12 miles south across the Mason-Dixon Line than here in Southeastern, Pa, and is well worth the trip down since the 24 hour supermarket is across from the 24 hour gas station which is next door to the liquor store that is
open on Sunday.
