These announcements always seemed to coincide with the NAB bash or CES,
but perhaps now they will start coming in as we approach 1 March 2007.

MANHASSET, N.Y. - LSI Logic Corp. and Micronas have announced the
availability of a qualified reference design that provides all of the
functions for a high-quality, feature-rich, flat-panel integrated
digital TV (IDTV).
The design is based on the DoMiNo DMN-8833 ATSC decoder processor from
LSI (Milpitas, Calif.), the DRX-H ATSC/QAM demodulator from Micronas
(Freiburg, Germany) and the Micronas VCT-P all-in-one flat-panel TV
processor. Together with the LSI IDTV ATSC software stack, the solution
enables a fast-track upgrade for existing VCT-P customers and gives TV
makers a stable, proven platform to quickly and cost effectively get to
market with a range of ATSC IDTVs.
The design allows for processing, decoding and displaying ATSC broadcast
content; processing and displaying analog, digital, HD and SD signal
sources; improving video quality with advanced signal processing
algorithms; and decoding surround sound audio.
The LSI DMN-8833 decodes SD and HD content (up to 1080i) in compliance
with the ATSC specifications and decodes audio in compliance with the
Dolby Digital CE and MPEG-1 layer 2 specifications.
