I've been noting weekly ads for $22 VCRs including tuners at a time when
the least expensive advertised DTT receiver/decoder boxes (when they're
advertised at all) are $200.
You could always share a receiver/decoder between a display and a
recorder -- unless you ever want to watch one thing and record another.
