They want to retain their walled garden model, and obviously a FOTI scheme would devastate that model. That's why FOTA should still be preserved. It is THE ONLY way that TV content can be had reliably, without becoming dependent on a walled garden. Like I said, FOTA TV and Internet content are both unwalled models, but TV over Internet is simply not so. Not yet. And as you see, not anytime real soon, either.
