so you'll only get one stream at a time at any TV outlet. This scheme was tried in Tampa, FL, in 1979. The set top box was a remote 'control' for the tuner that was actually located out on the pole.
Only one channel at a time came through the drop into one's house.Want to watch a second channel, sign up for a second box and another tuner on the pole for double the cost.
That company lost the franchise in less than a year because no one would accept that kind of service.Just one of the many reasons why I will not subscribe to cable, satellite or fiber. I will not pay for a service that requires use of a proprietary tuner box and which charges extra fees for "premium" channels. Nor will I pay to watch programs filled with commercials.
