But the analogy of asking the clerk for the shirt at half price is just way
off. If I follow the thought process and the clerk would not sell it to me,
then I can skip the middle-man and get it free, straight from the
manufacture?

If you are receiving the signal via an antenna, then you have good common sense and have realized what a ripoff paying to watch programs full of commercials has become.

How is watching free OTA with an antenna "leaching on the backs of those who pay for cable?" Just because cable viewers aren't as savy as you, how is this a bad thing on your part?

As you point out it's possible to skip the middle-man and get TV free, straight from the broadcaster.

Further, you can own a DVR device, watch the programs when YOU want to and skip all the commercials as well.

I don't see a problem here. So far as I know the airwaves STILL belong to the people. Craig said so the other day.
