No need to play THE trump card...yet.
There's still plenty of mileage left in NTSC, as was evident in the
Congressional panel at NAB.
Just because the House is rattling their sabers, does not mean that
the Senate is ready to roll over. We just enriched the NAB coffers by
$7-10 million. It is ironic that some of the companies lobbying to
turn NTSC off, are only too happy to pay the NAB for the privilege of
showing their products to those of us who make the pilgrimage to Las
Vegas each year. Most broadcasters don't even bother to attend; they
just keep collecting the "golden eggs" from the NTSC goose.
