[opendtv] Re: HDMI issues

Sounds like somebody set CGMS-A bits in Line-21 to "copy never", "copy
once", or "copy no more". A receiver is supposed to "do the right
thing", like assert Macrovision (or DTCP or HDCP, etc.) on its video
output, as well as pass the CCI bits. Your recorder could be reacting
to CGMS-A bits on its input or receiver generated Macrovision (sync
pulse or color stripe distortion). Welcome to the broacast flagged
future.

Really? This is news to me! Has anybody else ever seen Macrovision=20
transmitted? With the tricks it plays with sync, I didn't think that=20
Macrovision was FCC legal.
