I've discussed on a french forum with someone that worked in this domain. He mentionned Thomson TTV 5000, 5600,5620 series as devices that could be used to work with SECAM encoding at the camera (and had this AM bus for mixing). However he says this generally involved some loss of resolution during a cross fade. Also, in case of R-Y/B-Y phase mismatch when joining sequences, if you did not take adequate precautions (pre-roll) you could end up with a defect known as the "pink panther" (16 to 32 colored lines at the top of the picture). For recording, 2 inch Ampex quadruplex as well as the first 1 inch devices could record the signal without modification. 3/4 inch BVU800 series or 1 inch BVH2000 would use some form of transposition. Not ideal, then, but possible. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
