When viewed in an appropriately sized window 360P looks fine. At full screen it looks almost as good as CBS 1080i sports.

Most the comments about TV over the internet claim, as you have, that the picture quality compares favorably with conventional TV delivery methods.

My point is this is false.

Like everything else, the answer is, it depends. I watched a movie recently, downloaded via my Blu Ray player, just to see how it worked and the quality seemed similar to the Blu Ray. YouTube videos that my kids like to watch the same way, through the player's interface, are generally pretty bad, but some are actually reasonably good.

Obviously, if everyone were to try to switch to internet deployment for their video, the infrastructure would simply not be able to handle the bandwidth demanded. It is, however, possible to get similar quality in many places, most of the time.
