Okay, then I take it back. EVERYTHING is in flux, with the possible exception of monochrome NTSC. Testing and measurement gear gets more precise over time (as new devices are sold), reception gear gets better, and new issues are identified. Non-existent RS-170a is very interesting in light of the fact that various manufacturers have been selling 'RS-170a' compliant gear for more than 20 years.
