[opendtv] FYI

Hi all:

*_Six Things_* -

*_First:_* Most of you know about the Taste of NAB Road Show that I've done for the past six years. For those who don't, I try to bring a "taste" of the technology that was at NAB to those who missed it while there or couldn't make it at all. As it says in my agreement with my sponsors, "these are educational, *_not_* sales events." I don't make anything from any sale that may result from my presentations. To see who's signed up so far and the door prizes for this next year, visit: *2008 Sponsors & DoorPrizes <http://www.tech-notes.tv/2008/2008-Sponsors-DoorPrizes.htm>*.

*_Second:_* I'm putting together the itinerary for this next year's (2008) Taste of NAB Road Show. If your SBE Chapter, SMPTE Section or other broadcast related organization would like me to do the presentation for them, please let me know. It is probably not possible to do it on your regularly scheduled meeting date as I drive from place to place and it would take me five years to do what I do in five months. To see where I'm at so far with the schedule, visit: *2008 Itinerary <Itinerary>* & *2008 Map <http://www.tech-notes.tv/2008/Maps/USA-MAP.jpg>.*

*_Third:_* I'm trying to get a better balance between radio and TV technology. Any ideas on what you'd like me to try to get to bring with me? Please either call me or e-mail me off list: *RoadShow@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:RoadShow@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>*.

*_Fourth:_* I'm looking for an assistant to join me at NAB and on the Road Show. I've had the on-going help of both my grandson, who now has other commitments and two outstanding individuals whose lives have taken them in other directions and will not be able to join me this next year (one is in medical school and the other will be shooting a documentary in New Zealand). I will gladly put you in contact with any of them for reference purposes. For details on this position, visit: *2008/Assistant <http://www.tech-notes.tv/2008/Assistant.pdf>*. This is a perfect opportunity go to NAB 2008, to learn about and use cutting edge technology, see the USA and meet some of the finest technical folks in our industry.

*_Fifth:_* To see what some have had to say about this year's efforts, visit: *2007_Comments. <http://www.tech-notes.tv/2007/2007_Comments.pdf>* It's over 150 unedited comments (77 pages).

*_Sixth:_* If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to call me any time between 9 AM and midnight west coast time.
