Sure, they could brag about their 3.3, but could they brag about their mobile performance at that rate? Digital cellular can.

Just glanced through this report. One thing that jumped out:

Page 14, Exhibit 9:

The spectral efficiency of digital cellular is stated to be:

2G             0.03 b/s/Hz
2.5G           0.09
3G initial     0.24
3G HSDPA       0.48
3G HSPA 6      0.72
3G HSPA 7      1.29
4G             1.5

TV broadcasters could brag about their 3.3?
