Actually, I did realise your point, but I just don't agree.  Vonage is 
something 
I specifically seek out and sign up for.  I'm NOT under the impression that 
it's 
a direct replacement for a land line, nor is Vonage trying to convince me that 
it's a direct replacement.  The 911 restrictions are very clearly stated on 
their web site and in the user documentation I received with the telephone 
adapter.  They even suggest that if you have an alarm system in your home, you 
should retain regular phone service for that.

What about those without land lines or even a telephone at all?  Who are they 
going to sue?

But still, the FACT is that you do indeed have 911 service equivalent to that 
of 
a cell phone.  You just have to do your part and tell them where the service is 
used.
