  Dear John Meehan,

I have already answered your question on 16 September (17.19h European time).

  The short answer is this:

  http://www.consumer.philips.com/c/blu-ray-dvd/bdp9100_05/prd/gb/

" The perfect companion for the Cinema 21:9 TV. Unlike normal Blu-ray
players,

the BDP9100 is the only Blu-ray player allowing you to shift subtitles in
the 21:9

screen aspect ratio, to retain the subtitles without the black bars. "

  Hello Jeroen,

A question about the Philips 21:9 set and Blu-Ray disks - as you've probably
seen, subtitle placement varies from one disk to the other - the two lines of
text sometimes appear over the active picture, or are split, with the upper
line over active picture and the lower line over the black letterbox area.
