The problem is still alleviated, though. Because the analog stations are
typically much more powerful than the digital stations that will replace
them.

Matter of fact, in the first field tests of the Linx prototype, the ones
run way back in 2003 in Chicago, the only failures they encountered with
reception (using the 6' high dipole) was when the digital station had a
strong, local analog station adjacent to it. I would expect the analog
in the higher channel to be particularly bad, given the very powerful
carrier.

Same happens in my case. Adjacent DTV stations are no problem, but when
there's a strong local analog, e.g. WETA-TV Ch 26 at 2.3 MW, next to
WETA-DT Ch 27 at 90 KW, that's when problems occur. In this case,
reception is actually more reliable with a UHF loop.

On the other hand, digital Ch 34 (CBS 9 at 1 MW), Ch 35 (MNT 20 at 500
KW), and Ch 36 (Fox 5 at 1 MW) are not a problem. These are all local to
DC and all reliable stations.

Nor is Balt Ch 38 (CBS 13 at 1 MW) and DC Ch 39 (ABC 7 at 324 or 646 KW,
I can't tell which applies now) a problem.

Good deal all around, then.

Considering the Sinclair test report from 1999 (the actual results, not
the anecdotes), and the improvements such as Ken described, I would like
very much to see a retest.
