As an actual user of OTA and HDTV, the idea that you distort the
usership numbers downward and that the real issues with OTA TV are
hidden behind this nonsensical modulation "debate" is really getting
old.

Well tell me about my distortions first. Where are my numbers wrong?
Do you dispute J. D. Powers when they say 88% of households have
either cable or satellite? Yes or NO.

Do you dispute the 2% don't use any TV at all. Yes or No

Do you dispute that 3% of households steal cable or satellite? Yes or No.

That adds up to 93% of all households that depend on OTA today.

Yes there are a lot of analog sets in other parts of the house. We
have two others. No one has watched either in years. How do you count
those? What percentage of those 300 million analog TV sets are used?
What percent of the time are they used? Will they be hooked up to
antennas and will current owners buy digital STBs? I don't think so. A
few yes. Tell me your number.

Lets compare my distorted numbers to your on the mark numbers. At
least we will see how far apart we are and maybe be able to agree to
disagree on the difference or maybe you will change my mind. Its been
done.

We have a perfect example of what ails OTA TV in the Gainesville market.
Craig says 93 percent cable penetration. Gee, what a surpise. They don't
even provide the major networks OTA. Is it really that hard to figure
out why Gainesville TV customers don't care much about their ATSC tuner?

Honestly, Bob, you sound to me like someone prescribing Nyquil to cure a
patient with a broken leg.
