Thought the OpenDTV list would be interested in this reply I got
from the CRC, paying particular attention to the last sentence.
Hopefully, Yiyan will find the report from 2002, so we'll have
something more recent than a 1999 test to go by in the future.

Thanks for you interests at the CRC's work.
About Broadcom BCM3520:
We only have one and a half days before NAB2004 to test the BCM3520.
So it is a partial test. But test did show that BCM3520 has very good
maultipath performance, and handled fast varying multipath distortion =
well.
Broadcom plan to comeback to CRC to do a complete test in the near =
future.
At the moment, we do not have a complete test report to release.
You can contact
"Stuart Thomson" <sthomson@xxxxxxxxxxxx>
"Randall Perlow" <rperlow@xxxxxxxxxxxx>,
see if they can release a partial test results to you.
About ATSC 8-VSB vs. DVB-T COFDM test in 2002. We did a lot of tests =
for
different interest groups and for different reasons. Can you give me a
title of that report, or content of the report? It was lab test report
or field test report? It probably used a Zenith/LG 4'th generation =
receiver.
Over the last two years, both VSB and OFDM receivers' performance =
improved
a lot.
Another few years, there might be no difference between VSB and OFDM =
receivers.
