Am I reading this right? You make house calls?? I *am* impressed! Just for kicks, I retained the Accurian STB in my system, also now connected to the quadruple bowtie antenna in the fireplace. So I have three different receivers downstairs: the Funai/Philips in the PVR, the LG in the LCD, and the Accurian. The first two are of the same vintage, I'm guessing 5th gen or 6th gen equivalents. And in the upstairs setup, the 3rd gen Digital Stream 3150Plus mated to a double bowtie Radio Shack antenna. My guess is that the receiver in the Funai/Philips PVR is similar to the ones in the Magnavox coupon box? I find it sometimes slightly better and sometimes not quite as good as the LG. They are really very similar performers overall, though. From what you say, the Zenith beats them. Good news. Always looking for improvement. The Accurian, with antenna in fireplace, doesn't receive all the local stations. Strangely enough, though, it does receive CBS13 and CW54 from Baltimore. Go figure. The upstairs setup, with perhaps a 12' advantage in receive antenna elevation, does very well with local stations, even though a 3rd gen Digital Stream receiver.
