Largely, you're whining about successful companies. Companies that, to get
bigger, buy up smaller successful (or hurting companies.)

Let me put it another way: Air America hasn't yet entered bankruptcy for the
last time.

Perhaps if the U.S. auto industry operated under the same preferential regulations that allowed the big media companies to force cable to help them rebuild their empire, they would own all of the other car companies. But the U.S. auto industry provided U.S. consumers with enough good reason NOT to buy their cars that they are now on the verge of bankruptcy. To be fair, poor product quality was only part of the problem - non-competitive union contracts had a strong hand in this. What has happened to the big three provides a glimpse into the future insolvency of the U.S. government because of unfunded liabilities for entitlements.

And now it looks like Murdoch is going to control the Wall Street Journal.

Fortunately, some of us are beginning to understand that the media conglomerates are joined at the hips with the politicians, both of which are responsible for the modern perception that only big government can take care of you.

Orwell's 1984 if finally here. Like most government programs the project took longer than expected and cost three times as much as projected.

Craig
