Seems to me that it's entirely up to the congloms to optimize their
formula for ad frequency and duration, even if it's on the web.

I agree with your points about the failed web services. But people won't
stop watching TV, as long as someone out there is providing it in an
acceptable way. The congloms can afford to do this without having to
depend on too many middlemen. Others cannot. That's' why I think the
congloms can easily win out.

The fact that you and Craig might not personally like their content is a
different topic. As long as the masses do, that's all that counts.
