Me too.
If I want the new now, with no delay, I either watch the live stream on the
Internet, or I watch a 24-hour news channel on TV, or I listen to 24-hour news
station on the radio.
Otherwise, if the news can somewhat be more stale, I either watch a TV news
program on demand, or read news over the Internet on demand.
So sure, traditional news shows on TV, especially local news, should probably
be scaled down. But this is hardly the same as saying that interactive
web-based news is the only format that makes sense. Even on the web, there are
24-hour live streams of news that can just as easily be transmitted over
broadcast media (radio or TV), which make them more accessible under
circumstances when you don't want constant interaction.
