Makes one wonder what the results would have been were the question about
analog tvs.
In a football stadium, maybe 70,000 people have an unobstructed view.
Virtually all homes offer an unobstructed view to the television set, and
millions watch games at home.

American sports fans prefer HDTV to stadiums
A survey by Motorola has found that nearly half of Americans would
rather watch college or professional American football on a high
definition TV than in person.
The survey of more than 1,000 adults found that 45 percent would rather
watch college or professional American football on a high-definition TV
than watch the game in person. Only one in three respondents indicated
they would rather watch a college or professional American football game
in person.
"The survey results really speak to the popularity of high-definition
programming," said Doug Means, Motorola corporate vice president and
general manager, Home and Networks Mobility. "The colour, the clarity
and the crispness of a sporting event delivered in high definition is
almost like being there-but from the comfort of your own home."
The survey also found that more men than women would rather watch a game
on a high definition TV than in person (51 percent of men vs. 41 percent
of women).
