[opendtv] Re: A detail in the history of video standards

The evidence I offer is that an ATSC region was assigned to Taiwan. I am
told that only happens when a country signs an agreement with ATSC to be an
ATSC country. I can only assume -- since the region has not been deleted --
that Taiwan is still an ATSC signatory. Not that that prevents them from
adopting other technologies.

Tijuana has the following native tv stations
3 (Canal Once/XEIPN from Mexico City)
XETV 6 Fox
XEWT 12
21 TV Azteca
27 TV Azteca
33
45
49 (Tecate/Tijuana)
57

By the way, each of the above television stations will get a digital
channel, and Tijuana is in the first phase of Mexico's 18 year transition to
digital.

Not including Ensenada, or San Diego or Los Angeles TV stations.

I engaged in slight exaggeration. Korea has three tv channels; Britan has
5; France 6, Germany about seven. They're countries. Tijuana is a modest
city of 2.5 million. Britan alone has 58 million.

Ain't competition wonderful.
