Sorry, but I find this sort of response immensely aggravating, Craig.
Just so you know, when you undoubtedly use this technique again in the
future. So here's my outburst:

What reading comprehension entails, Craig, is the ability to synthesize
information from multiple sources. Context is everything. If you can't
recognize hype in a brief, simplistic quote, in the context of other,
more detailed information acquired elsewhere, then you have not
internalized the subject matter yet.

We have seen now, on more than one occasion, specific examples where the
bit rates required of H.264 HDTV, IN PRACTICE, *do not* vary appreciably
from the bit rates required of H.262 compression. So with that
information in mind, what *this* article was explaining about HDTV in
the UK is that the main ingredient will be the higher spectral
efficiency expected with whatever new RF schemes they are considering.

That is why I wrote what I wrote. No, I was not merely mouthing back
what the article stated. I was putting it in context of other
information we all have already. There is nothing inaccurate about my
conclusion.
