Different countries have different TV environments. Canada's cable penetration has always exceeded that in the U.S. Most people in the U.S. prefer to get their local news via TV. TV, therefore, is the best way to reach them. A history of cable and satellite problems has left U.S. viewers with residual antenna connections -- how many, I can't say, but emergency crank-up radios with at least TV sound are doing a brisk business.
