I suggest you take a look at atheos's translation kit, as it's mostly based on
beos ideas,
but should be more modern.
I know the translation kit is very immature (at atheos) but works.
also, some beos developer, sorry for not remembering your name, who made a few
translators for beos, was almost in charge of the atheos effort. contributed
ideas and
design. (maybe it was hekkelman. sorry really can't remember)
maybe he's also interested in obos?
