Hello,
I'm just a lurker on this list, with a morbid fascination about this work.
i used to be on betp.
in any case, I was wondering, if we (umm, you) could add tests (sort of like
extreme programming unit tests)
so that denial of service attacks won't happen..
especially now that david's building it as a kernel module, if the network
crashes i lose my whole machine.
maybe even deliberately not implement certain exploitable areas.
I don't know much but icmp type 3 "nukes" used to kick ppl off the net over a
long period of time on irc if performed
from a fast machine.(as well as bonk teardrop smurf and so on and on -- i did
the company's firewall, so i learned some
stuff though it was really low budget and software based)
i believe having a design at this early stage of how we won't be affected, and
be as stable as possible is
very valueable so as to not go thru the workaround fixes way mswindows does.
is there such plan or are we too alpha to even think of it?
