I notice that there are almost no internet tools in our repository. I think we should have ftp/telnet/ssh in our repository, and also include their server daemons, and wget, too.

Do we really need ftp and ssh daemons shipped with Haiku? It's not that desktop users would want to run them. Instead of sshd I would prefer something graphical like VNC (or app_server-built-in workspace sharing). Also, file sharing should be done correctly: (e.g.:) NFS with easy-to-use file shares instead of an experts-only ftp server. Next, we'll include Apache and PHP...Seriously, we should (IMHO) keep this kind of server stuff out of the base desktop distribution.
I'm not against putting them into the vendor tree and maintaining them centrally in our repos, but we could as well create a new BerliOS project for such port maintenance projects.

Of course, user tools (ftp/telnet/wget, maybe ssh) should be included.

Waldemar
