[openbeosnetteam] Re: fix sis900 to 10mbit

Hello,

After I added speed 10 and duplex half to the sis900 file, nothing happened. (I made a fresh install without Bone).

Thats why I disconnected the remote adsl/ethernet switch, and borrowed another simple one. I plugged in only my computer and the speed given was 100 mbit.

Is it possible that when there is no link, the sis900 speed & duplex mode is set to auto?

Rob

P.s I use the net_server add-on from bebits (1.0.1). The network settings api says I use 0.9.6B. I removed all old sis900 stuff before I installed this one.

I created a sis900 file in /boot/home/config/settings/kernel/drivers/

You have to specify both, speed and duplex, for example like this: speed 10 duplex half

If there was only one of them set, the settings are completely ignored.

The net_server add-on is not part of the OpenBeOS repository since it's
not needed for OpenBeOS. If you want to use the driver from R5 with
net_server, just use the version available on BeBits - the driver in
the OpenBeOS repository is compatible to that one, just replace it.
