Team,

Indeed, the ping implementaton wants to find a file '/etc/protocols'
to fulfill the function call proto = getprotobyname("icmp"). When I
copied my 'protocols' file from a unix box over to this (BeOS R5.03)
box, ping no longer says "unknown protocol". However, I still cant
ping anything, as now it will always report "ping: sendto: No route
to host". This comes up on any internal address, or localhost. I
also cant use "route" to add a default route (route: socket: Protocol
not supported).

When testing ping, will it make a difference if Im using net_server
or OBOS stack? Just curious...
