Another possible solution for the "Apply Now" box and problems associated with it would be "Save" and "Save As ..." buttons. And if you don't want to let user apply changes to active profile then "Save" button would be disabled (greyed out) for that profile, just like any other profile with "view only" checkbox set. So you may have just "view only" be set on current active profile and uncehcked on all others. I am a bit confused with "Rename" button - if I rename current (active) profile would it be still active ? With "Save As..." you combine "copy" and "rename" in one step - this is usually the easiest way to create new working profile for unexperienced users. And what profile would become current if user deletes current profile ? Another useful feature is "startup order" (or priority) - in Windows XP it's called Alternative Configuration. If your primary (startup) profile is set for DHCP and there is no DHCP server around you may want to use different settings (some static IP). Having several profiles gives end user much more flexibility but you need to help them a bit - majority would have less than 3 profiles anyway. So set some integer number that would be the order in which this profile is tested at startup - if this config fails then next in order would take place. I guess that could be done on a separate view that lists all profiles with Up and Down arrow buttons. And probably "Activate This Right Now" button as well. ____________________________________________________________ Enter for a chance to win one year's supply of allergy relief! http://r.hotbot.com/r/lmt_clrtn/http://mocda3.com/1/c/563632/125699/307982/307982
