As you may have read on http://www.openbeos.org/ I have taken the
task of Preferences & Application Team Leader from Geoffrey Longo.
Geoffrey has done a fantastic job so far, however he has decided
that he would prefer to spend more time doing the actual programming
with the preferences team.

I will try to help out in any way I can. If you want to email me you
can get me at :

I can also be found most of the time in #OpenBeOS on
irc.openprojects.net under the user name mccall.

I will try to send out this update mail each week so the team can see
how we are doing, and so you all know what's going on.

I will make sure that it gets included.

|Second Micro Patch

I am pleased to say that there will shortly be a second Micro Patch
released at OpenBeOS.org, and thus I am requesting that everyone
who has beta quality software that they want to be added or ( in the
case of some of my work! )  taken out, please email me and give me
details.

We have a few new members this week, and I am glad to say that
Oliver Ruiz Dorantes has taken on the Sounds Preference Panel.

Oliver is a great programmer and has written great applications and
scripts such as -

|Software Update

As this is a new section, I can only let you know about my work this
week, and a recent report from Michael Ihde on the mailing list.

In future, if anyone has any new about there applications, please
email me what you want to go in here.

Keyboard - Is now on Beta3. have ironed out the bugs from the first
Micro Release, mainly to do with the settings file, and this Preference
Panel is now stable as far as I am aware.

Mouse - As some of you may know who have been following the list
I have come upon a problem with this. The API calls involved with the
mouse settings seems to have been changed since R2, and the
documentation hasn't been updated to reflect these changes. I am
now waiting for contact from the input_server team to see how I
should approach this.

Menu - Michael Ihde reports that he has got the shortcut keys to work
in the Menu Preferences.  It uses the key_map for those options, and
thus has made the OBOS Menu Preferences application work just like
the BeOS Menu Preferences application.

Build Master Ithamar Adema has put into place the new CVS structure
and has started to move all of our work across. You can check out the
new repository by visiting -

I am trying to put together a Team Website as a repository of all our
work i.e. who is working on what project, and perhaps some Beta 
software
to download.
