You are right, we don't have to, and I certainly don't plan to. But
so far it seems to me that no one really understands the
midi_server: what, why, when, and how does it do the things it does?
So looking at the messages the midi_server sends and receives may
give us some idea. If anyone here *does* know, or at least has some
clues, then please enlighten us ;-)
