To: Partners for Life Organizations:
As we kick off 2017, we invite you to join us individually or as a group -
many of our clinics this month throughout BC and across the country have
been impacted by extreme snow and weather storms. We hope you will start
your donations in February and March to assist with these winter challenges.
We especially need your help the last two weeks of MARCH for anyone enjoying
some time over Spring Break! Please include us in your plans!
We encourage you to bring a new donor to your next appointment and together
we can make an even bigger difference! There is an even greater need for new
donors . As a result of new iron eligibility guidelines introduced recently
to promote the health and wellness of blood donors, some donors won’t be
able to donate as frequently.
□ Starting in December the donation interval for women will increase to
twelve weeks, and beginning in March men will need a higher hemoglobin level
to be eligible to donate.
□ Canadian Blood Services anticipates a loss of approximately 35,000
donations each year as a result of the changes and more donors are needed to
fill the gap.
We would also like to welcome our new Event Coordinator for the Interior,
Jenna Kiesman! We are delighted to have her on board and we look forward to

LIFEBUS: For over a year now we have been running the Lifebus Shuttle that
picks up donors on specific days or you can request a day and get your
team to donate together and ride the lifebus! Its fun and a great way to

Bring a colleague from another office and encourage them to donate with your
team. We are always happy to connect with someone new or if you prefer to
have us connect with some of your contacts - referrals from existing
partners is amazing and we will happily reach out to them.
Adopt our Clinic: Select a day or days to rally your team - it’s your day
and you can take as many appointments as you need. Have some fun and invite
your clients, contacts to join the movement to save lives! It can be a
really great way to bring your community together.
