Data Dictionary The next meeting of the New York City Visual FoxPro User Group will be on Thursday, May 7, 2009. Chaim Caron will speak on meta data and Data Dictionary. He will explain why systems need a data dictionary, what a data dictionary is, the functions a data dictionary should support, and the benefits of using a data dictionary when you develop database systems. He will demonstrate a few features of the data dictionary he developed about 15 years ago and has used since. He will also discuss the database structure he uses for the data dictionary. This information will be useful to you if you want to build your own data dictionary. Chaim Caron is an independent consultant specializing in Visual FoxPro and has worked with the FoxPro and Visual FoxPro since 1989. He was the leader of the New York City FoxPro User Group for three years during the 90's. The meeting will be held in NYU's Main (Silver) Building, 32 Waverly Place, northeast corner of Washington Square, on Thursday May 7. We won't know the room number until the day of the meeting. When you arrive at the guard, tell him you are attending the FoxPro Computer User Group meeting and he will tell you which room we are in. Please bring photo id.
