who's a clever boy then?
brian - your email came in just as i started listening to yorkshire v
worcester online.
i downloaded something, re-named it bbc player, used webbie to find the
site so as not to be thrown on to the desktop by firefox - couldn't listen
using webbie - it just kept giving me that bong sound when i tryed to
click on the commentry - so copyed the address bar and pasted it in to
firefox location bar and bingo, i'm listening to the cricket.
i can't bigin to tell you how elated i am that my persistance has finally
payed off.
feeling much better now.
cheers - Ron Nuttall

Oh now why use flash for a purely audio system. Seems a funny way to do
stuff, but then this is the same BBC who invited blind people in at the
start of their new I player then totally ignored their input and went
ahead with a flash version anyway.
If we could be sure they always use the same thing, then it might be
worth a bit of playing about.

hi brian
as you might suspect, i've no idea what your talking about.
i tryed to find links direct from the i-player but they only seem to
have
listen again links on the radio lancs page.
i can only tell you that on sunday, when i tryed to listen to the
commentry,
that i was invited for want of a better word to download the flash plug
in
inorder to continue.
i lost track of what happened after that as a result of all the hoops i
was
invited or requested to jump through.
nagating the detritus on the adobe page didn't help - however, we live
to
fight another day - and tomorro, weather gods permiting, i'll have
another
go.

If you have the right player though, I'd have thought it ought to be
just
a normal link. You do not have the I player forward and back on a live
stream surely?

brian - i already have bbc listen again and the tuner from accessible
in
webb-ie on my desk top.
the lancashire county cricket games are not broadcast on radio lancs
mainstream but are available online - alasdair kings radio tuner only
provides links to the mainstream broadcasts from the i-player.
the county game against nots at manchester starts on wednesday morning
at
11.
i can't remember all the steps i was instructed to take on sunday when
i
clicked on the listen live link, but i'll have another go then.

just to inform list members who were so helpfull last week, that i
manniged to run NVDA portable but unfortunatly to no avail.
while firefox didn't crash, it still kept throwing me on to the
desktop.
i also kept getting the following message:
secure desktop - NVDA access denied..
however, i still have my trusty webbie browser to fall back on.
spent most of yesterday trying to find out how to download and
install
flash plug ins so that i can listen to the county games on radio
lancashire.
you need hardly ask - as per usual, i failed misrablely.
i'm really glad the rest of you seemingly find thees thins straight
forward - as for me, i've clearly still got a hell of a lot to try
and
learn.
thanks once again - good luck and take care - Ron Nuttall
